The images on this website were taken with a wooden pinhole camera that I built myself. To make the camera lightproof, I created pigments from iron and charcoal. The iron was extracted from iron nodules I collected in the Veluwe and melted in a self-built clay oven, heated to 1,200 degrees Celsius. In the same oven, I also made charcoal from oak wood.

For developing my photos, I use homemade developers made from plants and herbs. Both the developing and printing processes are done with these natural materials.

Many of the photos on this website were taken through telescopes at the Corona Borealis Observatory in Zevenaar (Meade 12-inch F/10 and Celestron 8 F/10), as well as through the largest Lunt telescope in the Netherlands, located at the Sonnenborgh Observatory in Utrecht. One image was taken using the self-built telescope of science journalist Roel van der Heijden.

I am proud to have photographed Altaïr, a star located 16.73 light-years (around 158 trillion kilometers) from Earth.
