The photos are taken with a wooden pinhole camera that I built myself. To make this camera lightproof, I manufactured pigments based on iron and charcoal. The iron was extracted from iron nodules collected in the field (at the Veluwe) by heating them to 1,200 degrees Celsius in a self-built clay oven; the charcoal was made of oak in the same oven.
I make my developer of plants and herbs. I develop and print images with this natural developer.
Most of the photos on this website were taken through the Meade 12-inch F10 telescope and Celestron 8 telescope F10 of the observatory Corona Borealis in Zevenaar and the biggest Lunt telescope of The Netherlands of the observatory Sonnenborgh in Utrecht.
I’m very proud that I succeeded in photographing Altair. This star is 16,73 lightyears away from Earth (158 trillion km).
